March 2024 Coffs to Pittwater...

Owner David had Duende for only a few months when he contacted me to assist him with the delivery to Sydney. We left early in the morning and once a few miles out to sea, found ourselves in 4 kts of current assisting us and giving us speed over ground of 9-10kts consistently all the way past Port Macquarie. At this point we still had lesser assistance of about 2 kts most of the rest of the way to Pittwater where we arrived the following afternoon. One day and 10 hours - a very quick trip and the only issue was the necessity to re calibrate the auto pilot which once done worked seamlessly the rest of the trip.

Additionally, David caught a few fish which added to his bait supply but unfortunately none which were good eating. Amazingly in discussion, we discovered we had mutual friends from many years ago and not at all from the sailing fraternity. Incredible how that six degrees of separation plays out.
