June 2022...

Owner Chris asked me to assist himself and two cousins with this delivery taking recently purchased Sundowner to Boatworks for some serious refurbishments. Thrusters, stabilisers, hydraulic swim platform as well as some structural alterations to increase the size of the flybridge to enable seperate skipper accomodation.

Sundowner built in the early 70's was bought from the original owner (Sir Theo Kelly) by Chris's family so as a teenager, he remembers many happy times cruising on her. When she became available to purchase several months ago, the temptation was to much to refuse and so returns to Chris and his very lucky family.

We were delighted to see many whales along the way and the pictures here are just before sunset off Camden Haven

The trip was seemless with a couple of days in Coffs to allow a strong northerly through. I look forward to continuing to be updated on progress and to sail on her again soon.
