Gold Coast to Hobart August 2023...

Ian Mackenzie from The Catamaran Company Coomera contacted me to ask me to deliver this lovely cat to Hobart for the purchaser. As both Murray and myself both enjoy sailing cats the only downside was being in the middle of winter, weather is lovely up at the Goldie however seems to get parabolically colder with each day we traveled south. Six or seven layers was not uncommon during the nighttime watches. Overall we picked the weather well and had two days in Bermagui waiting for a southerly front to dissapate (and took advantage of the break to sort out a charging issue and serviced some winches) and then we had a night off Maria Island and considered our options of Dunalley vs Tasman Is and during the evening the 45kt wind abated and we decided leaving at daybreak and going the longer way around Tasman was going to take less time and put us into Hobart before dark so that's what we did.
