Pittwater to Port Lincoln December 2025…

New owners Paul and Monica from Karatha WA are not new to boating however had never sailed anything quite like this ver large cat. My job spec… to teach them how and when to use all systems on the yacht and hope to have them proficient by Pt Lincoln to enable them to continue west by themselves. They had found two additional crew on Crewfinder. One guy backed out the day before and Brian arrived on time and was a huge asset to the running of the boat and I thank him for his assistance, knowledge and general good company on board.  Paul and Monica listened well and caught on very quickly. I did try to extract myself from doing the processes after having talked things through and usually that worked 100% successfully. We soon discovered Monica’s great ability to solve problems of the technical variety and found her copying and pasting files in the back end of my iPad to transfer routes eventually to the ships plotter. By the time we got to Lincoln I felt very confident that the three would be fine to cross the bight and offered them 24/7 telephone assist if required. They had Starlink fitted and what a great asset that is. After a good crossing and safely into Esperence, Brian left the boat to catch up with his Perth based daughter for new years.  Subsequently, Paul and Monica sailed Samadhi up to Geraldton. Samadhi was very well prepared and had with the previous owner creased extensively with a young child onboard, hence the full netting and higher stanchions. I wish Paul and Monica well and much joyous times on this beautiful yacht.
