Tin Can Bay to Hope Is Resort Marina July 2024...

Leeanne purchased Quality Time to live aboard after sadly being the subject of fraud to a boat builder who has a shed at Lake Macquarie. Unfortunately this unscrupulous low life has taken hundreds of thousands of dollars from several purchasers and there is absolutely nothing in the shed. So Leeanne bought Quality Time to serve her purposes for future accomodation. I was reluctant to take QT to the open ocean especially over the notorious Wide Bay Bar and explained to Leeanne I would need to select a perfect weather window to complete the delivery. Amazingly and maybe as a reward to Leeanne for what she's been through, on the exact day she wanted us to leave TCB, that window arrived. Perfect Weather and a totally benign bar crossing.

Escorted by our little feathered friend (who stayed with us for nearly a full day) and jumping whales and coming across an upturned tender off Tangalooma all went exceptionally well even as the wind increased into the 20's for about 4 hours in Moreton Bay. Twin Yamaha 70's pushed QT along at 6 or 7 kts (approx 9 lt per hour for both motors) and close to 9kt at full speed.

As always excellent crew work and companionship from Murray and Im so grateful for his vast knowledge which we use to brainstorm all decisions.
