'Chill' Riviera Platinum Sports 6000 Sydney to Perth November 2024

Sydney to Perth November 2024...

Although 7 years old, Chill had minimal usage and mostly on the flat waters of Sydney Harbour and Pittwater. Having not done the trip across for a couple of years, I was delighted to be engaged to do the delivery but also on such a perfectly maintained vessel. I thank R Marine Rozelle and in particular Simon, Martin and Ben for their assistance in preparing chill for this long voyage.

Chill had all the extras including Seekeeper 9 gyro stabiliser which we ran virtually the whole time. We did a quick run from Sydney to Bermagui and filled the tank to compare actual with the electronic read out. To our delight, the instrument was within 10% and we used less than was suggested by the read out but also from the Riviera fact sheet on burn rates and that was running the genset as well.

The trip...

Sydney to Bermagui (then stopped overnight at Eden for weather)

Bermagui to Port Fairy (stopped for 2 days for weather)

Port Fairy to Ceduna

Ceduna to Esperence

Esperence to Albany (stopped one day for weather)

Albany to Fremantle to meet the clients then off to Perth.

16 days total 12,000 lt fuel costing $22,374 and 280 engine hours. Used a total of 300ml engine oil and about the same amount of coolant in the genset. Recommended is to change engine oil and filters. As opposed to

We spoke to a gentleman in Freo who had his newish Riv 54 trucked across from East Coast. Cost $7k to prepare the boat, $60,000 trucking and then another $10k to reassemble the boat and recommission.

Very happy clients and Murray and  I thoroughly enjoyed sailing this beautiful boat across to Perth.

Thank you to the clients and also to Murray for a great trip.
