'Riv 51' Riviera 51 Sydney to Fremantle January 2025
Sydney to Fremantle Jan '25...
Oren purchased this older but well maintained Riviera 51 through the R-Marine brokerage in Sydney. Salesman Adam recommended our services for the delivery to Fremantle and having had such a successful voyage just a month earlier with MV Chill, Murray and I fired up the same passage plan and duplicated another very successful delivery. Maintenance wise, we had to swap out the batteries whilst we were also waiting for the right weather window to commence our next long leg to Ceduna. Other than that no significant issues and mostly a very smooth crossing which meant we had time for housework (see pic with Murray and vacuum cleaner!) and a few games of cards. As always, I encourage owners to join us at some stage if possible in order for us to impart all the intimate details of the boat which we have learnt over the last week or so and Oren jumped at that opportunity and we picked him up in Albany for the final leg home. It was a pleasure meeting him and with his local knowledge, we diverted course and cruised into Bunker Bay (just northeast of Cape Naturaliste) to show us a favourite spot of his with pristine water and some beautiful secluded homes.
BTW the rock which looks like an elephant is just to the west of Wilsons Promontory amongst other spectacular very large 'island' animals. There is another which is very lizard like.
We wish Oren and his family much joy on his new vessel and thank him for his kindness along the way. Thanks go to Captain Muzz who again was a great companion and his superb seamanship always very appreciated.
