After looking for some time and nearly purchasing a Hanse 385, Michael settled on the Sun Odyssey as the boat that ticked all his boxes. I agreed with him that he found a great boat in very good condition to the extent that not a single thing broke or wasn't working at the end of the trip. Initially the masthead tricolour didn't work but it just needed the terminals cleaned and then worked seemlessly. The stainless frame for the dodger had been installed backwards which meant fitting the dodger was a challenge until mastermind Murray suggested it might be back to front and bingo, it fitted like a bought one and with the weather we got, we were so grateful to have the protection that dodger provided. An extremely dry boat, no leaks at all below despite the sometimes very rough weather. Michael came along and was a great addition to the crew and I thank both him and Murray for making that cold windy journey so much more enjoyable.
